We're Going Back on the Road!

I can't tell you how good it feels to write those words.

The past few weeks have been an exercise in patience, uncertainty, and surrender. But after a lot of waiting, my husband has finally been cleared by his doctor, and on Wednesday, we're rolling out.

And honestly? I am more than ready!

I've realized over the years that movement isn't just something I enjoy. It's something I need. Not because I'm trying to escape anything, but because the world is endlessly fascinating to me. New landscapes. New conversations. Different ways of living. The reminder that life is so much bigger than our routines and to-do lists.

Our first stretch takes us down through California, along Big Sur's incredible coastline, before we point ourselves toward Texas. There will be long days in the car, questionable roadside coffee, unexpected detours, and hopefully a few moments that stop us in our tracks.

Those are always my favorite.

The moments you couldn't have planned.

The tiny towns nobody talks about.

The view around the bend that makes you pull over and just stare.

The random conversation with a stranger that somehow stays with you for years.

Travel has taught me that some of the best parts of life happen when you leave room for the unexpected.

And this journey feels especially meaningful because every mile is carrying us toward something we've dreamed about for a very long time.

Scotland.

Sometimes it still feels surreal to say that out loud.

A new country. A new chapter. A chance to reinvent parts of ourselves while bringing the best of who we already are. There is something wildly exciting and slightly terrifying about standing at the edge of a life you can almost touch but haven't stepped into yet.

I think that's where the magic lives.

Not in arriving.

In becoming.
